One thing that we have learned in the last few years is that often times, it's the simple and straightforward actions that make the most sense. We had several posts this year specifically dedicated to this from War Dialing to Event Management to Auto Updates. Not only does the direct approach tend to be the most manageable it also tends to be the less expensive option: actions that can be more readily understood tend to have lower on-going costs. Let's try and remember that instead of getting caught up in elaborate, expensive, or technology-of-the-moment solutions.
